Their Master's Voice

THOUGHT FOR TODAY: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27 (NASB)
My wife and I are lifelong animal aficionados, and pets have always been a part of our lives. So close are our dogs and cats to us that, even if we are gone from home only a short time, they rejoice at our return. Their joyful barks
and meows can be heard as we exit our car, and upon entering the door, we are greeted by a reception line of loyal, loving four-footed friends.
Jesus said that, as sheep know the voice of their shepherd, Christians respond to His voice and the message He brings. And as we eagerly await His return, we listen for the sound of our Master’s voice!
PRAYER: Lord, make us ever attentive for the sound of your voice, whether it comes as counsel in our daily lives or as the shout of your triumphant return. In your blessed name, Amen.
