The prayer below is one we are asking everyone in the community of faith to pray the next several months. It is a prayer for discernment for BVCC in the coming months. However, the prayer is focused on wisdom for us to come to discernment through new eyes.
A Gift

One of the gifts this congregation offers me is the freedom to grow spiritually. As a pastor it is a cherished gift.
Not all communities of faith offer this gift to their pastors. Often the pastor is expected to stay within the “company line”—the particular theology (the understanding of God’s nature, purpose, and will) of the congregation’s tradition or majority beliefs.
Worship Experiences Taizé Spirituality

The liturgical season of Lent (the six weeks between Ash Wednesday and Resurrection Sunday) carries a tradition of increased focus on spirituality.
Members of Christian faith communities are encouraged to give up or release a habit or practice that will help the person center more fully in God. Or, persons can take on a practice that will enhance his or her awareness of the spiritual journey.
